Wednesday April 18, 2012. 12 new bands of 9 species and 4 recaps. Most numerous species were Hermit Thrush (3) and Winter Wren (2). The winds were not favorable for migration affording us time to adjust and reset a few nets. We closed at hour 5 for lack of birds. Highlights included Peggy banding a mature Sharp-shinned Hawk and the continuation of the huge Red-Admiral (butterfly) migration – fortunately they don’t get caught in the nets but many had to be shooed away as we spun the nets closed.                                                                                                                       Jon Dombrowski
