Sunday May 20, 2012.  252 new of 31 species, 13 retraps. New species Yellow-bellied Flycatcher and Cedar Waxwing.  With winds south last night we had the best day since opening day, and the second best day of the spring season so far!   Bird of the day tied between Blackpoll and Magnolia Warbler with 33 each.  Other highs included American Redstart 20, Chestnut-sided Warbler 17, Tennessee Warbler 15, Yellow Warbler 14, Mourning Warbler 11, and Bay-breasted Warbler also with 11. Out of the 31 species, 19 of them were warblers.   We had many visitors for the GLT open house who got to enjoy the birds as the action was slowing down. Highlights were four nice Blackburnian Warblers. We had a great crew with Erin as BIC, and Sonya, Ryan, Barb, Jess, Kathy, Annemarie, Butch, Hannah and Chris (the last four – members of the BTC).    Ryan Kayhart
