Monday October 1, 2012.  150 new of 24 species; 44 recaps.  It was a steady day, with good variety.  Bird of the day was definitely White-throated Sparrow with 68 banded.  There were 18 Golden-crowned and 16 Ruby-crowned Kinglets.  Four Black-throated Blue Warblers were a treat.  Joanna came and spent most of the morning mending nets.  Allen Nash brought gravel for the muddy area by the hand-washing area.  Willie did an excellent job scribing and removed quite a few birds from the nets.

In the evening, Dave Mathiason came out and we set up the owl nets.  After three net-checks with no joy, we caught a handsome male Saw-whet Owl.  On the next check, we caught a beautiful female!  All with an almost full-moon.   Two net-checks later and we caught a third of unknown sex!
