Friday May 24, 2013.  It was raining at dawn and the winds off the lake were simply wintry!  Even when the rain stopped, it wasn’t safe to raise the nets in those conditions.  So we decided not to open at all.

We checked our banding records and figured out that, as of today, we have just 1,303 more birds to band to reach the grand total of 200,000 birds banded at this location since 1986.  Andrea promised to keep track of our progress toward that goal, with a grand celebration planned!!!

The Bander Training Class students took their final exam, and we said goodbye to another great class.    Betsy Brooks
