Wednesday April 30, 2014.  4 new bands of 3 species; 5 retraps.  It was one of the most dismal days in memory … with cold temperatures and off and on light drizzle.  We worked in between spells of drizzle to manage 43.75 net hours with just 11 nets opened.  BIC Jon Dombrowski and crew banded a grand total of  4 birds – 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 1 American Robin and 1 Brown Thrasher.    We have managed to band just 439 birds this spring … better days must be coming?

The most welcome event today was the delivery of two more loads of wood chips to be spread on our trails.

Allen Nash met the truck with his wheelbarrow and pitchfork and started filling the puddles on our trails with mulch!  He was joined by Brian Lazoration and the team really made a big improvement on our net lanes.    THANK YOU!
