Thursday May 22, 2014: 76 new bands of 17 species, 25 retraps. Top 3 birds of the day: Magnolia Warber with 14 banded, Wilson’s Warbler with 10 banded, Canada Warbler with 8 banded.
Today the Bander Training Class students ran the station! We watched the radar nervously as a thunderstorm passed beneath us in the early morning, but the day warmed up beautifully and we got to see 5 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds! We also saw more Canada Warblers (see images) than we recall from previous days. Special thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers and staff who came out to help with the day!
