Monday July 14, 2014 14 new birds and 8 recaptures.

It was a beautiful day to be out birding for Pat Lovallo, Aggie
Windig, Dr. Sue Smith and Meghan Oberkircher. A good supply of Deet kept
us alive in the woods.

You could not help but think the deer were just
out of site in the woods quietly watching us. Their foot prints were
everywhere.

We had 14 new birds and 8 recaptures. The unusual catch of
the day was the Wilson’s warbler. A wayward traveler perhaps.

Aggie keyed out a number of new plants and kept up our plant identification
skills for upcoming habitat studies. Summer is fading quickly. The
temperatures in Rochester are in the 60’s with lots of rain making paths
muddy.
