Sunday September 7, 2014:  67 new birds of 16 species, 7 retraps.  No new species; bird of the day is Magnolia Warbler with 17 banded.

Ryan is back with us for five weeks this fall, and it was great to see him.  We’re hoping that his arrival signals the arrival of birds as well, and today it definitely seemed to.  There were 8 species of warblers banded including a very late stunning adult male Yellow Warbler.

Katie Little was back as well, teaching Stephanie (the new MARS technician) how to run Dr. Morris’ flight call experiments.  Fred Beaudry brought four students from Alfred University up for most of the morning, and they got to see several species of warblers, vireos and thrushes.  Ryan Kayhart and Andrea Patterson
