Monday September 8, 2014  49 new birds; 15 species

Betsy was back to begin her five weeks at the banding station.  It is one thing to read about getting birds out of the net while fending off mosquitoes … another to actually do it!  Eight birds in the 40 aerial at once was simply due to the swarms of mosquitoes around the net … the feeding was good!

We banded 8 species of warblers; Willie helped move Dick O’Hara’s bench outside; Marilyn worked on her new educational display board; and Betsy and Andrea made plans for the eight clubs or college classes scheduled to visit this month.

It is good to be back with Marian, Marilyn, Ryan, Terry, Jane, Maggie, Andrea and Willie!
