Wednesday September 17, 2014 40 new birds of 21 species; 15 recaps.

We had almost all the ingredients for a perfect day
of early Fall banding. Beautiful weather, a great crew
and some gorgeous birds. Again, what we lacked in quantity of birds
was made up for by quality. Our first net check yielded a Connecticut Warbler,
definitely the most exciting bird of the day!

Other highlights included a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Scarlet Tanager,
and a stunning Yellow -shafted Flicker.

Our most numerous bird banded was Blackpoll Warbler, with a total of nine new bands.
