Sunday October 5, 2014:  60 birds of 15 species, 24 recaps.  No new species.  Bird of the day was White-throated Sparrow with 34 new bands.  The morning was a little breezy, but we were lucky in that it neither interfered with our nets nor brought down cascades of leaves the way it did last Friday.  We hosted visits from both Canisius College and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.  In addition to hoards of White-throated Sparrows, they were treated to views of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Brown Creepers, Black-throated Blue Warblers, and Magnolia Warblers.  One student commented that this was the coolest thing ever, and we tend to agree!
