Monday, October 20, 2014 109 new birds; 40 recaps.  New species Orange-crowned Warbler

There seems to be no end to the birds this late in the year. The station had another banner day with 109 new birds banded and 40 retraps. Of the new birds, 23 were White-throated sparrows, 29 were Ruby-crowned Kinglets and 32 were Hermit thrushes.

We added a new member to the season species list, an Orange-crowned Warbler. Many of the new captures came within the first two hours. Our banders, pickers and scribes were Jane Capellupo, Andrea Patterson, Peggy Keller, Jenna Holzschuh, Pat Lovallo and Marilyn Guenther. Marian Klik (BIC)
