Saturday October 19, 2014:  50 new bands of 8 species; 42 recaps.  No new species.  Bird of the day was White-throated Sparrow with 15 new bands.  David Bonter, from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, brought four students up from Ithaca to staff the station today.  Two students were fairly new to banding, while the other two had some experience (as they were the TA and the graduate assistant).  The weather was dicey, but cooperated enough to get the students plenty of birds.  Migration appeared to have stalled, however, as nearly half of the birds were recaps from prior days.
