Tuesday May 5, 2015.  62 new bands of 20 species; 12 retraps.  New species Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Traill’s Flycatcher. and Wood Thrush.  Bird of the day was Ruby-crowned Kinglet with 26 banded.

We put up the hummingbird feeders yesterday, and today Ryan banded the first Ruby-throated Hummingbird of the spring.

Students of Rodney Olsen from Vermont spent their first morning with us and enjoyed a nice variety of birds and helped us check nets.  They were all taking notes and studying individual birds they were especially interest in.  They also moved wheel-barrow loads of mulch to the back trails, which Alan Nash will be spreading on our trails.
