Thursday May 7, 2015.  179 new of 30 species; 30 retraps.  New species American Redstart, Magnolia Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Canada Warbler, and Veery.

The wind overnight was out of the SSE and radar was busy with echoes from birds.  We arrived with high hopes.  We weren’t disappointed!

The first run of the day was heavier than usual and it just kept going from there.  By the end of the day we had banded 179 new birds (the highest yet this season) of 30 different species.  We also handled 30 retraps.

The bird of the day was the Gray Catbird (72) and we added 5 new species to the seasons tally.

We had a great crew which worked together well.
