Monday August 31, 2015:  20 new birds of 9 species; 3 recaps.  Bird of the day is Gray Catbird with 5 new bands. followed by Red-eyed Vireo with 4.  It was pretty slow for most of the morning, as the birds came in ones and zeros for most of the net runs.  As if often does, the last run of the day proved to be the most fruitful, netting us 20% of our total birds for the day.  We think there is a bander’s version of Murphy’s Law at play . . . but instead of “whatever can go wrong, will go wrong” the law is something like “you won’t get birds until you are ready to pack up and go home”!
