Wednesday September 2, 2015    35 new bands of 16 species; 11 recaps.

We had a better day at the station than I expected, what with the weather being so warm and muggy.

Bird of the day was a three-way tie between Magnolia Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo and Veery, with four of each being banded.

Winners of today’s avian beauty pageant were a beautiful male Hooded Warbler and a male Black-throated Blue Warbler.

New species for the season was a Philadelphia Vireo.

The mosquitos are really bad, worse than I can ever remember.  The net-pickers had to resort to wearing headnets!
