Friday September 18, 2015. 27 new bands of 15 species; new species Sharp-shinned Hawk.

The daily numbers continue to go down as the warm, humid, winds from the wrong direction conditions continue.

We did have a handsome young male Sharp-shinned Hawk and a nice variety of 8 warbler species.

Sue Smith Pagano brought five of her students from R.I.T. to see the banding operation in general and her research in particular.

The heat and humidity continues to make us wish for a breath of fresh cold air from the north.  Even the usual ‘lake breeze’ seems to be missing!
