Thursday October 8, 2015.

In spite of a strong north east wind, we had another good, late season day of banding.  A total of 86 new birds were banded of 18 different species.  We also processed 25 retraps.

There were several species in the running for bird of the day.  These included Ruby-crowned Kinglet (26), White-throated Sparrow (20), and Golden-crowned Kinglet (14).

Also of interest were a Magnolia Warbler and an Orange-crowned Warbler.

The noisiest bird of the day was clearly a second year male Yellow-shafted Flicker.
