Wednesday September 7, 2016  25 new birds and 7 recaps; no new species.
Yesterday was humid and cloudy for most of the morning at BBBO. If the sun had been out we would probably have had to close nets early, but we managed to do all six hours of the session.
Of course it was very slow due to weather conditions, but we had some interesting birds. Blackpoll Warbler was bird of the day, with seven new bands. We also banded three Bay Breasted Warblers, giving everyone some practice in distinguishing between the similar Fall plumages of these two species.
It was fun to capture a Hairy Woodpecker and a Downy in the same net.
