It was a little slow, but an excellent day! We had a great variety of birds of 23 different species. Forty-two new birds were banded and there were 16 recaptures. We banded four each of Gray Catbird, Traill’s Flycatcher and Cedar Waxwing. Besides those three species, we banded smaller numbers of all the following birds: Wilsons warbler, Magnolia Warbler, American Redstart, Canada Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Mourning Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Yellow Bellied Flycatcher, Black Capped Chickadee, American Goldfinch, Warbling Vireo, Eastern Wood Peewee, Field Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Indigo Bunting, Baltimore Orioles, Great Crested Flycatcher, Red-winged Blackbird, Northern Cardinal and Blue Jay.
