Volunteer

KH2 Oct 7

It’s hard to imagine a better group of volunteers than the dedicated crew at BBBO.  Some folks help by recording banding information, doing building maintenance, trimming net lanes, or acting as education liaisons.  Others provide moral support and brownies.  After training, volunteers can assist in removing birds from the nets and can provide direct assistance to the banding staff.  During the summer, capable birders are always needed to help construct breeding status lists for our MAPS (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship) sites.

Check out our volunteer opportunities, and if volunteering interests you, please call us at 585-227-3490, or e-mail us.

If you are under 18 and are interested in volunteering either long-term or as part of a community service requirement, check out our Young Volunteer page.

Individuals or groups interested in a service project are encouraged to join us on our service days.

Curious about our other volunteers?  Meet some of them here!
